Michigan Animal Rights Society to Host Free Screening of Peaceable Kingdom

Ann Arbor, MI — February 16, 2004 — Michigan Animal Rights Society (MARS) will be presenting a screening of the new film, Peaceable Kingdom, from award-winning directors Jenny Stein and James LaVeck. Peaceable Kingdom explores the interconnected life journeys of animals, former farmers, and animal rescuers struggling against an out of control industrial system.

Breaking generations of silence in the farm community, Peaceable Kingdom weaves together themes of respect, forgiveness, commitment, and healing, offering a vision of a more peaceful world that is well within our reach.

The screening will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004. The film will be shown in the Vandenburg Room of the Michigan League, located at 911 North University. Following the movie, a brief optional discussion will take place. There will also be a raffle for two gift certificates to a local restaurant. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
